Eric Vs. 365 - Day 74 - Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash

Another month, another Senran Kagura game. Don't worry, we've run out of them for now (until Peach Ball gets super cheap on Switch ...). We're not gonna try and be all bashful and hide it, we love Senran Kagura and Peach Beach Splash is one of the secret best third-person-shooters on the market. It's actually a really fun team-based shooter underneath all of the fan service, people! Read more and watch gameplay right here.

I totally understand people that don't like fan service and are uncomfortable with games like this and don't want to play it. That's fine. Just don't rant online and tell other people not to play it and call them creepy weirdos and try to shame people for playing stuff you don't like. That's a dick move. Don't be that guy.

For those of us that don't mind a little T&A in our games, Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash is awesome. It's more than just the bikini clad bouncy anime girls, though. Peach Beach Splash is actually a really solid and fun third-person-shooter with a great upgrade system and a surprising amount of depth. After extolling the virtues of PVZ Garden Warfare and Sword Art Online Fatal Bullet and now Peach Beach Splash I'm like the patron saint of niche third-person-shooters or something. I talked about the gameplay and upgrade systems in-depth in my 2017 review for Peach Beach Splash.

Of course, the girls are part of the appeal here as well and, man, they're great in Peach Beach Splash. This game sort of cuts out the middle-man of "They're secret schoolgirl ninjas ..." and just says "Ah screw it. We know what you're here for" and slaps bikinis on these thousand year old dragons from the start. I've totally fine with that. The characters really do look great and the variety of costumes - including ones that actually cover them up! - is very much appreciated.

Peach Beach Splash is just a good ol' fashioned fan service-y water gun shooter that is better than it has any right to be.
