Eric Vs. 365 - Day 297 - Farming Simulator 15

Farming Simulator 15 is the game that hooked me. It's all this game's fault. It's kind of showing its age compared to Farming Simulator 17 and 19 these days, and it wouldn't be my recommendation for new players despite it being the one that got me started, but it is still solid overall and easily better than the other farm games not called Farming Simulator on consoles. Read more and watch gameplay here.

Farming Simulator 15 wasn't the first console Farming Simulator. No, about 18-months earlier the simply titled Farming Simulator was released to little fanfare. I played it. I reviewed it. I didn't fall in love with it. Farming Simulator 15 was actually mostly the same game as that first Farming Simulator - the same starting map, at least - but with greatly improved visuals and quality of life features. The first release was clunky and awkward and awful and confusing. Farming Simulator 15 was open and inviting and made surprising concessions to attract new players.

The franchise has continued that trend of being more and more accessible, while also improving everything else, which is why I'd recommend Farming Simulator 17 or 19 over 15 these days. In some ways, though, 15 is simpler and more straightforward and perhaps easier to get into, so I'm a little conflicted. Maybe just play all of them, on every platform, like I do. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Not much else to say that I haven't covered in other Farming Simulator blogs / vids. The series is great. Play it.
