Eric Vs. 365 - Day 310 - Just Cause 3

There is no more confusing franchise to me than Just Cause. Not because I don't like it, I love JC3 and 4, but because so many other people are so vocal about trying to make sure other people don't like it. Just Cause 2 has been put on this undeserved pedestal as the "best" one and JC3 and 4, which greatly improve on pretty much everything in JC2, are despised and ignored. I don't get it. I don't get it at all. Read more and watch Just Cause 3 gameplay here.

I think I've said this before, but I assume the people who love Just Cause 2 are PC players where the shitty controls and mediocre graphics have been fixed with updates and patches and mods and maybe the game does hold up better than 3 or 4. If they're console players who greatly prefer Just Cause 2 I have to assume they're lying or trolling because JC2 on Xbox One sucks shit compared to Just Cause 3 or 4.

Just Cause 2 has bad progression and the controls feel really bad compared to Just Cause 3 or 4 on consoles. I literally don't know how you can play one and then the others and be like "Wow, Just Cause 2 sure is better than these others". I really think people are just trolling at this point.

Just Cause 3 got complaints because it ran terribly at launch, and still doesn't run especially well, but it's fine! It also looks really good and has a gigantic map with a ridiculous amount of stuff to blow up. If you can't get down with that and have fun you're a lost cause (heh).

Just Cause 4 doesn't look as good, but as a result it runs much much more smoothly. They streamlined it even more, though, so it feels more repetitive. At the same time, however, they give you all of the fun toys to play around with really, really early so, again, if you can't have fun with it that's on you. Plus, it has tornadoes that are fun to play in.

What I don't get is why people are so vocal and steadfast in propping Just Cause 2 up as being great when the sequels are obviously better. Is it trolling? Is it just a FUD campaign because they hate Avalanche or Square Enix or something? Whatever the reason, they've convinced thousands and thousands of people to not even give Just Cause 3 or 4 a chance, and that sucks. People would probably like it if they'd just play them and not listen to loudmouth morons with ulterior motives.
