Eric Vs. 365 - Day 350 - Forza Motorsport 7

Holy crap Lois, the Forza series feels so much better to play than any other racing games on the planet. It isn't really even particularly close, either. The cars feel so freaking good and the handling is perfect and, even better, there are tons of options to adjust the way to game plays so you can make it as arcadey or sim as you want. Today's video is Forza Motorsport 7. Read on for more and to watch gameplay.

Fun fact, Forza Motorsport 7 is the first Forza Motorsport I had to spend my own money on. I got review copies / codes for all the rest. This is why I didn't actually buy it until 2.5 years after release. Uh, yeah. Well, I know now I shouldn't have waited. It plays freaking amazingly well, looks goddamn ridiculously good, and has all of the cars and tracks I could ever want.

The reason why I hesitated to buy it is two-fold. First, I didn't like the career setup in Forza Motorsport 6 very much - jumping around the world with narration and cinematic BS for everything - and I expected FM7 to be similar. It isn't. It went back to a more straightforward approach, which is much better. Second, I just don't play games the way I used to. I used to pour dozens and dozens of hours into racing games like Gran Turismo 2 / 3, and Forza Motorsport 1-4, but since those days I just don't have the time or desire to spent so much time on a racing game, so I didn't want to pay full MSRP for a game I'd get bored of sooner rather than later.

With that said, Forza Motorsport 7 is flippin' amazing and has sold me day 1 on Forza Motorspot 8. Instead of the every-other-year release schedule the series had followed up until this point, Turn 10 has actually taken an extra year to work on FM8 - presumably for Xbox Series X launch - so I have fairly high expectations that it will be another excellent entry. It isn't like Forza Motorsport 5 which was rushed and half-assed and severely lacking features for the Xbox One launch. FM8 should be fully loaded, fully featured, and polished like we've come to expect from the series. I can't wait.

Here's a link to the Forza Motorsport 7 video because Blogger doesn't want to work today.

Until then, of course, I'll keep playing Forza Motorsport 7.
