Eric Vs. 365 - Day 11 - Forza Horizon 4

Day 11 of Eric Vs. 365 features Forza Horizon 4 - one of the best racing games ever, but one that I have almost zero interest in continuing to play. Yes, Forza Horizon 4 is beautiful and it plays amazingly well, but due to the insistence on making it a Games-As-A-Service experience all of the satisfaction of winning races is totally gone in favor of an endless grind to collect worthless character customization items and fill progress meters. Today's Forza Horizon 4 video isn't about any of that, though. We did something ... different. Continue reading for all of the details.

I already covered all of the ways Forza Horizon 4 disappointed me in my impressions article after it launched. Most of that is still the case, but one thing has improved in that there is more content available now. Microsoft and Playground Games have continually added new events and new Horizon Stories to the game, so if you jump in now there is actually tons of stuff to do. The progression still sucks and all of the satisfaction of actually winning races is nonexistent, but you have lots of events to play in order to grind through all of the pointless cosmetics now.

For this video I wanted to focus on one of my favorite aspects of the Forza games - custom liveries. I don't have the talent or patience to actually make them myself, but I love being able to browse through everyone else's fantastic designs and make my cars look awesome. Or, in the case of this video, make my beautiful cars look terrible.

I slapped cringey anime girls all over my cars with absolutely no shame. I actually like anime, though, so I don't consider most of these designs to be all that bad to be honest. I suspect other folks will find it sacrilegious, though, which brings me great joy. The funny thing about all of it, and I mention this in the video, is that I always play from the driver's seat view so I don't ever even see what my car looks like 99% of the time. I just hope that other players driving around the world see my cars and feel uncomfortable. That's all I can ask for.
