Eric Vs. 365 - Day 8 - Soul Calibur VI

Eric Vs. 365 day 8 features the gorgeous, wonderful, great playing Soul Claibur VI. This is arguably the best Soul Calibur yet, but it sort of came and went with relatively little fanfare. That seems to be the case with almost every fighting game these days, but we still love them. Continue reading for more info on today's video.

This Soul Calibir VI video is an edit from a stream we recorded back in December 2018, so if the audio is slightly out of sync that's why. Part of me wants to stream more, but I'm not sure I have the personality to actually pull it off. It's one thing to sit in front of a microphone and talk while playing a game - I've been doing that for years now - but having to interact with an audience at the same time while they're judging your every move is a bit overwhelming. Maybe if Eric Vs. 365 builds a fanbase that wants to see it, we'll try again someday.

Article - Queen's Blade + Soul Calibur Needs to Happen

One thing that needs to be said about this, and probably every fighting game video we make, is that we rarely have enough time to play a game long enough to actually get "good" at it. And we also rarely focus on just one character long enough to really learn anything. The way Andrew and I have always played fighters is we just sort of bounce around to a lot of different characters and play for fun, which is pretty much the worst way to go about it if you actually want to get good and show off. In other words, if you expect EVO-level play you'll be disappointed, but if you just want to see real people playing games for fun, we can more than deliver.

With that said, this Soul Calibur VI video is pretty darn entertaining. Some interesting matches and some really funny jokes. I mean, I might be biased, since I made it, but I think it's pretty good. This video also marks a change to the thumbnails that I'm going to do going forward. I used to always try to have the game logo and stuff so people know what we're playing at a glance, but that's boring and typical Lets Play-y, which I don't want to do. I'm going to do things my own dumb weird way and see what happens instead.
